What is the Student Support Fund?

The Student Support Fund was created in 2025  to assist Project Launch participants with unexpected one-time expenses that create barriers and derail their future plans. Whether they are going to college, getting a certification or beginning a career, sometimes the only thing standing between them and their future is an enrollment or certification fee, a set of tools, professional attire or even textbooks.

What kinds of things can the Student Support Fund help with?

The Student Support Fund can help with one-time costs such as:

  • $1,000 Certified Nurse’s Assistant degree tuition, books and state certification exam fee

  • $500 college enrollment deposit to secure classes and housing

  • $500 towards a starter tool set for automobile mechanic apprenticeship

  • $500 towards a tool set for trade degree programs (such as plumbing & electrical)

  • $250 towards a professional starter wardrobe

  • $250  towards college textbooks for one semester

Who can apply for the Student Support Fund?

Any present or past Deer Isle- Stonington student can apply. Those who have been participants of Project Launch will be given priority.
