Project Launch (PL) in a nonprofit organization established in 2012 to help local students and their families make a successful transition from high school to post-secondary learning. PL is working hard to make sure that our local students have all the support they need to success. PL is free and open to any recent Deer Isle-Stonington High School graduate who wants to further their education after high school as well as those preparing to enter the workforce. To date, more than 120 students have enrolled in PL. Over 65% of them are the first in their family to attend college.

"I hope to be the first one in my family to graduate with a college
degree. Being part of Project Launch made me believe that I could actually succeed in college. I know that the program will be there
for me so I won't have to figure it all out by myself. I'm really
excited to go to college, meet new people and learn a lot of new stuff."
